I was born in a tiny town in Cuba. My father died when I was just 18 years old; with him being the sole provider for the family, we were struggling to put food on the table. I remember standing in the kitchen looking at my mother, not knowing what to do. A month after he passed, I started working as a Welder's Assistant in an Ice factory and my town's Sugar Mill, making only $5 to $7 per month. I had to start looking for other ways to support my mother, so I heard new Hotels were being built in Cayo Coco, which led me to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. I learned to do everything in the industry to my fullest potential, from washing dishes to waiting tables to bartending and making Cuban's famous Mojitos. I was able to support my mother and make more than the average Cuban, but when you live in a Communist country, everything you own could be taken away, so I decided to leave and come to Canada to pursue a better life.

When I arrived in Canada, it was a dream come true. There were so many opportunities right at your fingers tips. Everything I dreamt of, I put them in motion with determination and with no limitations.

Coming to Toronto with experience in the hospitality industry, I started working in restaurants. A few years later, my General Manager asked me to help him open up his restaurant with the offer of being a partner. I met my beautiful wife, whom I later married, and started a family. One day while driving home, she told me that I should try a new career in real estate; given my background in customer service and personality, I would make a great Realtor. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Helping people buy and sell Real Estate has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I focused my business on helping people; whether it is selling, buying, or leasing, we are here to do whatever it takes to get the job done with the best results possible. It doesn't matter the size of the deal; the only thing it matters is the client's needs.

In 1984 my family moved to Canada from South Vietnam. I came from a typical immigrant family. Both my parents worked in the factory industry, while my 72-year-old grandmother took care of the four of us. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, the wages of industrial workers were not sustainable for a family of 7. My parents used to work night and day to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. After five years of arriving in Canada, they saved and bought their first home in Mississauga in the Rathwood neighbourhood. I went to the neighbourhood schools and worked at the local mall, Square One, for five years.

Education was crucial for my parents. We have been drilled at a young age that education is the way out of poverty. We weren't by any means poor, but not rich either. Growing up with parents that made minimum wage, we knew not to ask for money for toys, treats, or anything deemed unnecessary.

My older siblings and I got newspaper routs in the neighbourhood, and in the summer months would go to the farms with my parents to pick the seasonal fruits and vegetables to make a little money for ourselves. At 12 years old, I bought candy and sold it to the neighbourhood kids for a fee.

By the time I was in my early 20s, the internet was still new to many people; I sold Mac cosmetics on eBay and made a little profit. At that time, I was in school and was working part-time at a body-building supplement company that was becoming huge in the United States and Canada. As part of the perks of working there, we were allowed to get the supplements for cost. My business savvy kicked in, and I started doing a little Buying and Selling along the side. With my cost, I could sell the product at half the retail price to my customer and get a healthy investment return. To me, it was a win, win situation. Working hard and wise was a way of life growing up.

Now, I can take my entrepreneurial spirit and passion for buying and selling to the world of Real Estate. The process should be seamless whether you are searching to buy or sell your home. We do our very best to provide a concierge service to our clients. Both processes can be overwhelming if not educated or guided by an experienced realtor.
